When the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted lives across Uganda, the Fonjo Foundation responded with urgency, empathy, and innovation. Our team mobilized quickly to ensure that vulnerable communities — especially children, youth, and households facing health and social challenges — received clear, culturally relevant information to protect themselves and others.
Community Sensitization Through Audio & Literature
Beyond global collaborations, the Fonjo Foundation produced and distributed internally crafted literature and audio recordings tailored to local realities. These materials addressed COVID-19 prevention, mental health, and community solidarity — using storytelling, music, and spoken word to cut through misinformation and reach even the most remote households.
Our COVID-19 response exemplifies our core values: kindness, creativity, transparency, and youth leadership. It also reinforced our belief that strategic communication — when rooted in empathy and cultural relevance — can save lives and strengthen communities.
